F5 Networks Sales Veterans to Manage Worldwide Sales and Expansion into Asia-Pacific
WALTHAM, Mass. - March 17, 2008 – Q1 Labs, a leading network security management company, today announced the addition of two top sales executives to drive and support the company's multi-channel sales strategy, including worldwide OEM relationships with Juniper, Nortel, and Enterasys.
As vice president of worldwide sales, Jon Fraleigh will manage and oversee Q1 Labs' global sales strategy, including its direct, VAR, and OEM relationships. Tim Goodwin will manage Q1 Labs' expansion into Asia-Pacific. Fraleigh and Goodwin both spent seven years at F5 Networks where they built sales organizations that successfully executed on a multi-channel sales strategy, generated hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue, and helped lead the company to a highly successful IPO.
"We are pleased to add two very successful and seasoned sales veterans to champion our rapidly expanding worldwide direct, channel, and OEM sales efforts," said Shaun McConnon, chief executive officer, Q1 Labs. "Both Jon and Tim have impressive track records and we look forward to leveraging their abilities to assist with our accelerated growth plans."
"With its recent OEM agreements and expansion into Asia-Pacific, Q1 Labs is starting the year off with a bang," said Fraleigh. "This is a very exciting time for the company and I am thrilled to offer my expertise in channel distribution sales to the organization during its next stage of growth."
Fraleigh has extensive sales management experience in fast growing technology companies, both private and publicly held. In addition to recent stints as VP of sales at Rivulet Communications and Bocada, he spent seven years at F5 Networks. For six of those seven years, Fraleigh ran the North America and Americas sales team, guiding it through eight sequential quarters of 35 percent growth, to a peak of more than $25 million per quarter.
During his tenure, the Americas team generated in excess of $450 million in total revenue for the company. His sales team, comprising geographic and strategic reps, delivered industry-leading content delivery assurance technology to customers through a four channel distribution model, including direct, VAR, distributor to VAR, and OEM channels. Prior to F5, Fraleigh ran North American sales for Logicraft, a provider of network content delivery systems. He holds two patents for industrial control work earlier in his career, and earned a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan.
Prior to joining Q1 Labs, Goodwin spent seven years at F5 Networks where he served as the VP/country manager for Japan. Previously, Goodwin managed LAN infrastructure and customer support operations at several large foreign banks in Tokyo. He earned a BA Honors in Japanese and Business Administration from Canterbury University in New Zealand.
