Q1 Labs Positioned in “Visionaries” Quadrant for 2007 Magic Quadrant for Security Information and Event Management
Q1 Labs Evaluated on Vision and Ability to Execute on SIEM Requirements
Waltham, Mass., May 15, 2007 – Q1 Labs, a leading network security management company, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the “Visionaries” quadrant of its Magic Quadrant for ‘Security Information and Event Management 1Q 2007 report¹.
The report analyzes a variety of SIEM vendors and more specifically their ability to meet compliance requirements and the need for near real-time awareness of external and internal threats. With organizations placing more emphasis on watching the actions of authorized users on their servers, this study focuses specifically on those products that provide a broad set of SIEM functionality
According to the report: “The security information and event management (SIEM) market is now driven by a broader set of buyers who need the technology to quickly address audit issues, but who also want to improve security monitoring capabilities. A solution that is optimal for the current market will support real-time collection and analysis of log data from host systems, security devices and network devices; will support long-term storage and reporting; will not require extensive customization; and will be easy to support and maintain.”
In the report, Gartner found that customers most frequently evaluate Q1 Lab’s flagship product QRadar in order to ‘collect and analyze all log data with full function event management’ as well as for ‘SIEM integrated with network behavior analysis (NBA)’ In December 2006 Q1 Labs also received a ‘positive’ rating in the Gartner report Marketscope for Network Behavior Analysis 2H 06
.
“Our placement in the Visionaries section of the quadrant, in only our second year of consideration, demonstrates that we are delivering the broadest set of key SIEM functions in the industry,” said Shaun McConnon, Chief Executive Officer of Q1 Labs. “We will continue to deliver solutions that meet the need of customers who need both SIM and SEM capabilities as well as those customers who are attempting to audit, monitor and manage their converging network and security infrastructures.”
Q1 Labs, QRadar goes beyond traditional security information/event management (SIEM) products or network behavior analysis (NBA) products to create a command-and-control center that can monitor, analyze and remediate threats. QRadar combines, analyzes and manages an unequalled set of surveillance data—network behavior, security events, vulnerability profiles and threat information—to empower enterprises to manage business operations on their networks efficiently from a single console.
