Industry veteran Shaun McConnon is CEO of Q1 Labs, where he brings extensive senior management experience in operations, sales, and marketing to the growing network security management company.
During his career, McConnon has guided technology ventures through the IPO process, and he has also orchestrated several successful mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to joining Q1 Labs in November 2003, McConnon served as CEO of Okena, a next-generation security company, which he led from its inception to its acquisition by Cisco Systems. Previously, McConnon was CEO of Raptor Systems, where he steered that firewall security company through a successful IPO and then its subsequent sale to Axent Technologies (later acquired by Symantec). Earlier, McConnon held various executive positions with Sun Microsystems, most recently as managing director of Australian and New Zealand operations.
McConnon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Roanoke College.
Brendan Hannigan brings more than 20 years of industry experience to his role as president and COO of Q1 Labs, where he is responsible for the company's overall day-to-day operations.
Hannigan joined Q1 Labs in November 2003 as vice president of marketing, and was promoted to executive vice president of marketing and product engineering in March 2004. He was later named COO in April 2006, and became president and COO in December 2007.
Prior to Q1 Labs, Hannigan was vice president of marketing and technology at Sockeye Networks. Previously, he was director of network research at Forrester Research, where he oversaw projects covering enterprise networks, security technology, and public network services. Earlier, Hannigan served in a variety of senior-level product development roles at Digital Equipment Corp., Wellfleet Communications, and Motorola.
He graduated with honors in Computer Science from University College, Dublin, Ireland.
Sandy Bird is co-founder and CTO of Q1 Labs, where he is responsible for the company's strategic technology direction.
Bird has extensive technology experience specializing in database design and development for web applications. Prior to Q1 Labs, he held a variety of technical positions at the University of New Brunswick in support, development, and administration.
Bird studied Electrical Engineering at the University of New Brunswick.
As vice president of corporate marketing, John Burnham has senior management responsibility at Q1 Labs for all of the company's strategic branding, positioning, corporate communications, media, and analyst relations initiatives, and for helping to create and deliver the firm's core messages to the network security management market and beyond.
He joined the company in July 2008, and has more than 20 years of extensive technology marketing, branding, and communications experience gained at various established networking firms and start-ups alike, including: Brix Networks, Juniper/Unisphere, Motorola/C-Port, Bay Networks/New Oak Communications, and Cabletron Systems, among others.
Burnham earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati.
Daniella DeGrace, a veteran of the networking and software industries, oversees all of Q1 Labs' global customer support and services operations in her role as vice president of customer solutions. She brings to the company a successful track record in building global customer service operations for technical organizations.
DeGrace joined Q1 Labs in March 2005 from Alcatel, where she was vice president of customer solutions delivery for that company's broadband IP video offerings and professional services. Previously, DeGrace held a number of executive roles at iMagicTV.
Earlier in her career, DeGrace was a solution technical architect at IBM, a lead system engineer at Network General, and a network manager at Hydro Quebec.
With extensive experience in a variety of senior management leadership roles, including those of founder, chief architect, and vice president, Chris Fanjoy brings wide-ranging expertise in software and product development gained at several entrepreneurial ventures to his position as vice president of engineering at Q1 Labs.
Fanjoy joined the company in April 2003 from Kinek Technologies, where he served as vice president of field services. Previously, Fanjoy was the co-founder and CTO at NetIgnite, which was acquired by Webb Interactive Services. Earlier, he was the founder and chief architect of MapQuest.com, one of the world's most recognized and trusted brands and the leader in online, voice, and wireless mapping and driving direction systems.
Fanjoy earned a Bachelor of Computer Science from Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia.
Bob Fincke brings more than 25 years of management experience in finance, administration, and operations, at both start-ups and Fortune 500 companies alike, to his role as vice president of finance at Q1 Labs.
Fincke joined the company in November 2003 following five years at New Venture Consulting, where he provided numerous venture capital-backed entities with strategic counsel on various business, financial, and legal matters.
Previously, Fincke served as VP of finance at Raptor Systems, and played an integral part in that firewall security vendor's IPO and its subsequent sale to Axent Technologies (later acquired by Symantec). Prior to that, he held various finance positions of increasing responsibility with Sun Microsystems, Wang Laboratories, Digital Equipment Corporation, Polaroid, and Johnson & Johnson.
Fincke received a Bachelor of Science degree from Philadelphia University, and earned an MBA from Temple University.
Jon Fraleigh has 25 years of experience in sales management, sales, and engineering gained at a variety of fast-growing technology companies, both private and publicly held, that he brings to his position as vice president of worldwide sales at Q1 Labs.
He joined the company in March 2008 following stints as VP of sales at Rivulet Communications and Bocada. Previously, Fraleigh spent seven years at F5 Networks, where he led the Americas sales team, guiding it through eight sequential quarters of 35 percent growth, to a peak of more than $25 million per quarter.
Fraleigh is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in Computer Engineering, and is the holder of two patents.
As vice president of marketing and channels, Tom Turner is responsible for all product management efforts, demand-generation programs, and channel marketing initiatives at Q1 Labs. He has extensive security industry experience, and has helped build and grow category-defining companies.
Prior to joining Q1 Labs in May 2005, Turner served as director of marketing for endpoint security at Cisco Systems, where he helped elevate the company to the number two position in the host-based, IDS/IDP market.
Previously, Turner was vice president of marketing at Okena, Inc., where he and Q1 Labs' CEO Shaun McConnon pioneered the intrusion prevention market and led the company to its successful acquisition by Cisco. Earlier, Turner managed the marketing and database security product strategy for BrainTree Security Software which was acquired by PentaSafe (now NetIQ).
Turner holds a Bachelor's degree in English and Spanish from the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, United Kingdom.
